To help you plan ahead, here is the upcoming holiday schedule in China:
Two points deserve special attention. First, Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day are only a few days apart, which reduces factory working days from late September into early October. Second — and most important — Chinese New Year starts on 6 February 2027, but based on previous years, most factories begin closing around mid-January and remain closed for two to three weeks afterwards.
Winter also affects rail freight to Europe: snow and cold weather slow trains down, and freight rates tend to rise as the holidays approach. Air and sea capacity also tightens during the peak season.
Our advice: confirm your orders and shipping plan as early as possible — ideally before mid-January — and build extra buffer into your delivery dates. The earlier you lock in, the better the rate and the more reliable the delivery.
